9.8 Campus Activities

Campus personnel are highly encouraged to participate in as many campus-sponsored activities as possible. Participation in these activities provides an opportunity to fellowship, to encourage one another, and to build lasting relationships with the student body.

Administrators, managers, and faculty chairpersons are “expected” to participate in campus activities as a part of their job responsibilities.

Major campus activities involving employees include various banquets, homecoming activities, monthly convocation receptions, student performances, and home athletic events. Dinner at Six and the midnight breakfast are hosted by College personnel for students one night each semester. Devotionals and mentoring provide a great opportunity to interact with students on a spiritual and personal level.

Admission to campus activities is free to employees and their immediate families to the greatest extent possible. When a fee is necessary, it will be kept as inexpensive as possible. Questions concerning activities or fees should be directed to the Dean of Student Development.

Special activities, such as banquets, are managed through the Student Development Office. The planning and programming should be coordinated and approved by the Dean of Student Development at the earliest opportunity. All budget and financial matters for these activities are managed by the Dean.
