9.12 Solicitation by Employees
Campus Personnel
College employees may not solicit or advertise for personal gain on campus during office hours. College employees and their families may not solicit students at any time. Such solicitation of students may present a situation where the student feels “obligated” due to the solicitor’s position with the College. Solicitation includes distributing literature or materials unrelated to College activities, selling personal products or goods, or displaying materials for sale in an office. Soliciting or sales of goods are discouraged in order to maintain a professional and productive atmosphere.
Posters, banners and advertisements of interest to all campus personnel are encouraged. Posting of such materials should be coordinated through the Student Development Office.
Off-Campus Personnel
Off-campus personnel desiring to sell or distribute items on campus should be referred to the Business Office. Approval generally will be denied, but approval may occur on a case-by-case basis where there is mutual benefit for campus personnel or students.
