THL 6023 Faith, Reason, and Competing Worldviews

This course offers an advanced examination of the dynamic relationship between Christian faith, philosophical reason, and major alternative worldviews. Students critically analyze secularism, postmodernism, naturalism, religious pluralism, and contemporary cultural philosophies, evaluating their epistemological foundations, moral frameworks, and internal consistency against Christian orthodoxy. Through rigorous theological and philosophical reflection, students develop intellectual strategies to critique competing truth claims, articulate the rationality and coherence of Christian belief, and engage in thoughtful, persuasive discourse within an increasingly pluralistic society.
