THL 5893 Missio Dei - The Christian Story of Mission

This course explores the narrative, theological, and historical framework of the Missio Dei (the mission of God) as the central thread of the Christian story. Students trace God’s redeeming purpose from Creation and the calling of Israel through the incarnation of Jesus Christ, the inauguration of the Church, and the final renewal of all things. The course examines how understanding mission as an inherent attribute of God—rather than merely a church program—reshapes Christian theology, ecclesial identity, and personal vocation, equipping students to align local ministry practices with God’s ongoing global story.
