3.12 Health and Safety

Purpose

To promote the health and safety of Rochester University employees and to help maintain a safe work environment.

Scope

All employees of the College.

Policy

An illness or injury that is job related, no matter how insignificant it may seem, must be reported to the supervisor and Human Resources Office. The College will assist personnel in receiving prompt attention and access to appropriate resources. .

Effective May 2, 1994, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) tightened the reporting requirements for job related accidents. Rochester University must report job related accidents within eight hours under certain conditions. It is important employees notify the Human Resources Office immediately of every job related accident.
