Purpose
To maintain a productive work environment.
Scope
All employees of the College.
Policy
Rochester University expects employees to be reliable and punctual in reporting for work. Absenteeism and tardiness result in a burden on other employees and on Rochester University’s overall operations. Days in excess of awarded holiday, vacation and sick pay or excessive tardiness may lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Not reporting to work and not calling to report the absence is a no call, no show and is a serious matter. Rochester University considers any no call, no show lasting five or more consecutive days as job abandonment and will result in immediate termination of employment.
Employees must call their supervisor at the start of the workday should they be absent. If the employee is unable to call for any reason, a person representing the employee may call.
