EDU 3233 Culturally Responsive Teaching

The course will analyze common classroom management systems and practices and determine what it means to be an equitable educator. Examination of implicit and explicit bias, deficit perspectives, and the use of rewards and punishments are central to the theme of this course. Recognition of multiple layers of diversity evidence in classrooms will be explored in ways that promote equitable learning environments. Fifteen-hour clinical experience required. PR: EDU 3224 and admission to Educator Preparation Program.
