Course Catalog 2024-2025

Dismissal

Students may be dismissed from Rochester Christian University for failure to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress, for repeated violations of Academic Integrity (policy outlined in the Code of Academic Integrity), and for violation of the university's standards of conduct (policy outlined in the Student Handbook).

All students are expected to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students whose cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the end of any semester is between 0.0 and 1.0 will be dismissed immediately, unless they have an approved appeal and academic plan (students who earn a 0.0 CGPA because of complete withdrawal, their first semester, are excluded from this policy). An SAP Appeal Self-Assessment form must be submitted to the SAP Appeals Committee by the deadline outlined in the student's SAP letter. Appeals submitted after the deadline will be considered for the following semester. Dismissed students without the option of appeal or whose appeals are denied are unable to re-enroll for a full calendar year. Upon re-admittance, students will be assigned an academic status of Academic/Financial Aid Warning or Academic/Financial Aid Suspension, based on their previous academic status.

Students may remain on SAP action for four consecutive semesters. Academic Dismissal occurs at the end of the fourth semester if the cumulative completion rate (CCR) is still below 67% and/or CGPA is still below 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students. After a full calendar year of non-attendance at Rochester Christian University, the student may apply for re-admission by completing the Rochester Christian University re-enrollment request form. Upon re-admittance, an Academic/Financial Aid Suspension status will be applied if the student does not have an approved appeal.

Students with incomplete courses are assigned the appropriate SAP action for the term, but not evaluated for dismissal until the end of the following term when coursework is completed.
