MAT 1203 Survey of Mathematics
Overview of the essence of mathematics and its applications for the non-science, non-mathematics student. Emphasis placed on the development of critical thinking skills, reasoning abilities, and problem-solving skills. Topics may include, but are not limited to, sets, algebra, geometry, consumer math, linear equations, systems of equations, formulas, descriptive statistics, and application problems. PR: Recent high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, or a college GPA of 3.0 or higher (based on 12 hours minimum), or minimum SAT Math score of 510, or minimum ACT Math score of 22, or ACCUPLACER QRAS score of 250-269, or MAT 2413 or minimum grade of C- in MAT 1003. Students can use their highest measure for placement. Students who do not meet the PR must be concurrently enrolled in MAT1022. Course fee.
