Course Catalog 2022-2023

Department of Mass Communication

The Mass Communication program will prepare you to think critically as well as communicate clearly and effectively. Your coursework will prepare you to become a professional in the media field who exhibits ethical and faith-based approaches to your work.

The traditional program offers an integrated media track. All students in this track will obtain practical experience by working with Shield Media, RU’s student media, and through a media internship. The majority of classes are on-campus, however, there are five online 8-week accelerated classes that can help students earn their degree more quickly.

The Mass Communication Department offers a totally online accelerated degree with 8-week semesters comprising of the mass communication core and a marketing communication track. This degree is designed to assist those who have earned an associate's degree or other recognized accredited qualification to complete a bachelor's degree in a timely manner.

There is also one 16-week online course in Publication Design in both the on-campus and accelerated programs.
