HIS 4323 Europe in the Age of World Wars

Examines major events, ideas, individuals, and institutions in an era of total war, the most destructive in human history. Includes the origins, major features and consequences of World War I and the peace; The Bolshevik revolution and the rise of the Soviet Union; interwar economics, diplomacy, science, philosophy, art and culture; the struggles of democracy and the rise of fascism; the nature and culture of Nazi Germany; and the onset, course and consequences of World War II. PR: Sophomore status or departmental approval required.
