General Education Program
The general education program establishes the broad liberal arts core of all bachelor’s degrees. The curriculum emphasizes specific content areas in the liberal arts as well as skill development in areas such as reading comprehension, critical thinking, mathematical analysis, research, writing, and communication that align with Rochester College's Institutional Learning Goals (ILGs).
The requirements for the general education program include 14 courses, totaling 41 credit hours. Courses listed below are from Rochester College’s course offerings. Other courses may satisfy the requirements, subject to the approval of the appropriate dean/director.
Note: Transfer students who complete a Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA), including two semesters of college composition, will satisfy all Rochester College general education requirements except Theological Literacy. For information about how individual transfer courses satisfy general education requirements, request a transfer evaluation or visit rc.edu/transfer-courses.
