MAT 1203 Survey of Mathematics
Overview of the essence of mathematics and its applications for the
non-science, non-mathematics student. Emphasis placed on the
development of critical thinking skills, reasoning abilities, and problem-solving skills. Topics may include, but are not limited to, sets, algebra,
geometry, consumer math, linear equations, systems of equations,
formulas, introduction to python programming, descriptive statistics,
hypothesis testing, and application problems. PR: Recent high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, or minimum SAT Math score of 510, or minimum ACT Math score of 22, or ACCUPLACER QRAS score of 250-269, or MAT 1003. Students can use their highest measure for placement. Course fee.
