Academic Policies for the MRE Program
A student may transfer up to six credit hours from a regionally-accredited graduate program when course grades are 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 scale or higher. Transfer credit is not applied toward the calculation of students' Rochester University GPA.
A student is considered full time when enrolled in at least six hours of graduate study. The MRE curriculum is designed around a nine hour semester. Students, however, may choose to take only six hours. Semesters below six hours will be considered only on a hardship basis and by the prior approval of the program director.
A student must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 scale to be in good standing with the university. At the end of each semester (including summer), the Registrar and Student Financial Services review the student's record to determine whether the student is meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements. Academic/Financial Aid action notices are distributed after final grades are recorded for the semester and students are notified in writing if an Academic/Financial Aid action has been taken (outlined in the
Satisfactory Academic Progress
policy).
A student must satisfactorily complete all requirements for the MRE degree within four years of being admitted into the graduate program.
