EDU 2223 Culturally Responsive Teaching
The course will analyze common classroom management systems and practices and determine what it means to be an equitable educator. Examination of implicit and explicit bias, deficit perspectives, and the use of rewards and punishments are central to the theme of this course. Recognition of multiple layers of diversity evident in classrooms will be explored in ways that promote equitable learning environments. Fifteen-hour clinical experience required. PR: Sophomore status and 3.0 GPA.
