Rochester College Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

Federal regulations require that financial aid recipients maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in a program of study that leads to a degree, certification, or transfer program.

Although no tuition is charged for CSL 2001 (Chapel/ Convocation), which is required for all full-time traditional students, the one academic credit hour affects a student's Cumulative Completion Rate (CCR) when completing SAP calculations. If a student drops below full-time, the credit for chapel is dropped unless the student requests to continue in the course. Approval is not automatic and is decided on a “case by case” basis. The maximum chapel credits that can be earned during the course of a degree is eight. These credits do not count toward the overall credits required for the completion of a degree, but they are calculated as part of a student’s overall GPA and graduation honors.

The Academic and Financial Aid SAP policies at Rochester College are one and the same. Students may be labeled with Financial Aid actions, regardless of whether or not they are financial aid recipients. Please refer to the Academics section of this catalog for full policy details.
