ENG 1003 Basic Writing
Practice with summarizing and responding to published material. Emphasizes reading comprehension as well as practice with revision and editing for content, organization, grammar, punctuation, and style. Attention to applying college study skills to assignments.
Students are placed in ENG 1003 Basic Writing if they: Score 22 or below on the new SAT Writing and Language exam OR score 15 or below on the ACT English exam. Students who earn a C or higher in this course progress to ENG 1114 Composition A with Workshop. Students may earn up to 6 hours of elective credit for developmental courses taken at Rochester College.
