Course Delivery Model
A seated course is offered face-to-face at regular meeting times. All seated courses will have accompanying Canvas course shells.
Online courses at Rochester Christian University feature regular, substantive interaction between the instructor and students, in accordance with the Department of Education's definition of "Distance Education" rather than "Correspondence." An online course is 100%* online and may include synchronous and asynchronous learning. All online courses are offered through the Canvas platform.
A hybrid course meets in a seated classroom and includes a significant amount of online activity requiring both in-seat and online participation.
Some majors, minors, concentrations, and courses are offered online through a consortium of regionally accredited colleges and universities. Instruction is provided by faculty employed by partner institutions within the consortium, with technology and administrative support provided by Rize Education. Oversight of courses offered through the consortium are reviewed by Rochester Christian University and its accreditor. Students register through Rochester Christian University and receive academic credit from Rochester Christian University.
