Communication and Media
The Communication and Media program will prepare you to think critically as well as communicate clearly and effectively. Your coursework will prepare you to become a professional in the media field who exhibits ethical and faith-based approaches to your work.
The traditional program offers an integrated media track. All students in this track will obtain practical experience by working with Shield Media, RCU’s student media, and through a media internship. The majority of classes are on campus, however, there are five online 8-week courses and two online 16-week courses that can help students earn their degree more quickly.
The Communication and Media Department offers a totally online RCU Online degree with a combination of 8-week and 16-week semesters comprising the Communication and Media core and an integrated studies track. This degree is designed to assist those who have earned an associate's degree or other recognized accredited qualification to complete a bachelor's degree in a timely manner.
The track requirement is waived for transfer students who have completed an approved associate degree or certificate in a Communication and Media field. Specs@LTU: RCU Communication and Media students can fulfill their RCU Communication and Media track by spending a calendar year at Specs@LTU in Southfield, MI, in one of the following: Broadcast Media Arts, Digital Media Arts, or Graphic Communications. Instructor approval is required, and conditions apply.
