Federal and State Grants

Federal Grants

Students may be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant and/or the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG). Eligibility is determined by the “need” amount when completing the FAFSA. Pell is awarded to undergraduate students who have not yet earned a bachelor's degree. Students eligible for the Pell grant are eligible for the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) if they have filed their FAFSA by April 15.

For additional details on the grant programs, please log on to the student portal and click on "Financial Services." You may also visit http://studentaid.gov/ for information on federal grants and https://www.michigan.gov/mistudentaid/programs for information on state grants.

State Grants

Private non-profit institutions are eligible to award students the Michigan Tuition Grant. Rochester University students may be eligible for these grants. To be eligible, students must, among other qualifying criteria, apply for their FAFSA prior to May 1, live in Michigan for a full calendar year, and place our school code (002288) in the number one slot of the school selection list on their FAFSA. Students may also be eligible for the Michigan Tuition Incentive Program. Students must receive a letter from the State of Michigan demonstrating their eligibility and a FAFSA must be completed. Please refer to the State of Michigan website, Michigan.gov/mistudentaid/programs, for other state scholarships.
