MAT 1003 Beginning Algebra

Review properties of real numbers and arithmetic; algebraic properties; linear equations and inequalities; graphing linear equations, functions, and inequalities; equations of lines; 2x2 systems of linear equations and inequalities, exponents and polynomials; factoring; introduction to quadratic equations and functions; and applications. May include an introduction to rational expressions and functions. PR: Recent high school GPA below 3.0, or SAT Math below 510, or ACT Math score of or below 21, or an ACCUPLACER QRAS score below 249. Students can use their highest measure for placement. Students may earn up to 6 hours of elective credit for developmental courses taken at Rochester University. Course fee.
