ECS 3523 Early Childhood Learning and Standards

Addresses the many ways teachers design and implement content areas with emergent curriculum to align with state standards. Students will learn to connect learning goals based on knowledge of child development, strengths, interests, learning styles, and needs of individual children and the social and cultural context in which children live. The use of appropriate technology is a part of this class. The course requires 30 hours of documented field observation which will apply learned coursework to the classroom setting.
